Hi friends. Today I will be talking about some problems that occurred in the Progressive era and still exist today.
One of those issues is womens' rights. Sure, today we don't have issues that have to do with the lack of womens' right to vote, but one of the biggest issues in this country right now is the wage gap. In some cases, women get paid less because people believe they don't do as good of job as men. Of course people should get paid less than others if they aren't doing as much work. But for a woman to get paid less than a man doing the same exact job is completely unjust.
Today, we still have many issues as far as politics go. Not the exact same issues occurred during the progressive era but there were still a couple similar subjects.
Another problem has to do with philanthropy. Personally I do believe that all people should give. But I also do not think it is right for politicians to have control over whether or not you give up 70, 90% percent of your income just because they believe that is your "fair share". Of course I am not saying that taxes should not be a thing. I believe giving should come from the goodness of you heart and not because you have to. But then again, this is coming from a 13 year old so of course I do not have a lot of knowledge as far as politics go.
