Night Essay Into Paragraph

Hey guys! Today I will be using this blog to write my intro paragraph for my Night essay.

The essay prompt is "How can a person become an agent of positive change? In other words, how can one person transform the world for the better?"

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." -Harriet Tubman. Throughout the books Night, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Divergent, the main characters all project the determination and strength needed to transform the world for the better. Night by Elie Wiesel is about a boy and his father who get sent to a concentration camp and are forced to try to survive in the terrible conditions they are faced with. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is about two children named Scout and Jem who grew up in a small, southern town plagued with prejudice white people. Throughout the novel they overcome racism and judgmental ideals. Divergent by Veronica Roth is about a teenager named Tris who rebels a against her society when she feels that there must be a change. As seen in Elie, Scout, and Tris' stories, strength and determination can help transform the world for the better.

What innovation was the most transformative?

Hey friends! Today we will be talking about what I think has been the most transformative innovation of all time. There have been many inventions that have shaped humans everyday life, but what has been the most transformative. Some might say the telegraph, cars, the wheel, or the telephone. But I think it is the internet. It not only has created a new way to communicate with other people (email, facebook, instagram, tinder), but it has transformed the way research can be done. On the internet, millions and millions of articles and websites are right at your fingertips that give you access to new knowledge. Today, most of peoples' lives live on their computer. Emails, bank accounts, netflix;), and some people in this 8th grade class might say gaming is the most important thing on the internet. Now, not everything on the internet is good. Its a new place for people to get bullied and a new place for kids to stumble across something they probably shouldn't be seeing. But overall, the internet has had a positive affect of the lives of people today.
